Divemaster

The Divemaster Course is the first step for the diver toward professional levels of PADI. PADI Divemasters and Instructors are the two highly sought for professionalisms in dive industry.

Assistant Instructor

Assistant Instructors are authorized to independently conduct Discover Scuba Diving in a pool or confined water, independently conduct Bubblemaker programs, independently conduct PADI Seal Team AquaMissions and much more…

Prerequisites

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You must have completed the PADI Dive Master or leadership level with another diver training organization.
  • You need to have Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training within the past 24 months.
  • A medical statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months.
  • Certified diverfor 6 months.
  • Logged at least 60 logged dives, documented experience in night diving, deep diving and underwater navigation.
  • If not a PADI Divemaster, complete the PADI Divemaster course dive rescue assessment and submit documentation of qualifying certifications for entry level, advanced, rescue and leadership level to PADI.

Instructor

The Instructor Development Course (IDC) is made up of two parts – the Assistant Instructor (AI) course and the Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program. Most dive professionals complete the entire IDC and go on to attend an Instructor Examination (IE), which is the final step to earn a PADI Instructor certification.

Prerequisites

  • At least 18 years old.
  • Certified as a PADI Divemaster.
  • At least60 logged dives and 100 dives to attend an IE.
  • Has been a certified diver for 6 months.
  • EFR Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training within thepast 24 months.
  • A medical statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months.
  • You also need to be an EFR Instructor, but you can earn this rating during your instructor training.
